Trace a picture into a vector

Select an image and convert it to vectors. Shapes and text stay on the same artwork, and the edges stay sharp when you scale it.

The result is an editable SVG

Redrawn as an SVG from the picture

The result is an SVG drawn by the model. The shapes can be changed again.

Change one spot without redrawing the figure

The shapes and text you point at can change. What you did not mention stays as it is.

The edges stay sharp when you scale it

A bitmap blurs as soon as you enlarge it. Paths stay sharp on the page. Screen export can be transparent. Print export follows the page size.

Real examples

Architecture diagrams from a paper, a portrait, and a still life. Once they are paths, they stay sharp when scaled, and one spot can change without redrawing the rest.

Questions that come up while converting to a vector

What do I get after conversion?
A regular image becomes a vector you can keep editing. You can also turn on vectors while describing a picture, or say in the conversation that you want a vector.
Can I edit it after conversion?
Yes. Open the vector editor. With an object selected, only that part changes. Shapes and text you did not mention stay as they are.
Does it go soft when scaled?
The result is a vector. The edges stay sharp, so it fits papers, slides, and web pages.
Does it use credits?
Yes. Conversion and later AI edits use credits, the same as other AI edits on images and vectors.
Where is the file stored?
On this device, with your images. The library is not uploaded to a cloud drive.
What can I export?
The selected objects or the whole canvas, as SVG, PNG, or JPG. Screen export can be transparent. Print export follows the page size.
