• Local-first data storage — your research data stays on your device
• Cross-source verification to align findings across multiple sources

User Accounts and Responsibilities

Using certain features of SpanSearch requires you to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information and keep it updated
• Protect your account password security and not share it with others
• Take responsibility for all activities under your account
• Use the service only for lawful purposes and comply with applicable laws and regulations
• Respect others' intellectual property rights and not upload infringing content
• Configure data source access responsibly and ensure you have the right to search connected sources

You are fully responsible for content you create, upload, or share through the service. Please ensure you have the right to access and use connected data sources and that your research activities do not violate laws and regulations.

AI Research Service Notice

SpanSearch uses advanced artificial intelligence to conduct research on your behalf. Regarding AI features, you need to understand:

• AI-generated research reports and citations are for reference; please independently verify their accuracy
• AI may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or biased findings; we continuously improve but cannot completely avoid this
• Do not rely on AI research for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice
• Research scope is limited to the data sources you configure — results reflect only what the agent can access
• Queries sent to third-party AI providers for processing are not used to train AI models

By using AI research features, you acknowledge understanding these limitations and agree to use the service responsibly.

Local Data Storage and Privacy

SpanSearch is built with a local-first architecture. Your research data stays on your device:

• Research reports, source configurations, and conversation history are stored locally on your device
• We do not upload or store your research content on our servers
• Enterprise-grade encryption protects data at rest on your device
• You are responsible for maintaining backups of your local data
• Uninstalling the application or clearing local storage may permanently delete your research data

Service Changes and Termination

Paid Services

SpanSearch offers both free and paid service options:

• Free tier provides basic features with limited credits; paid tiers offer more credits and advanced features
• Subscription fees are charged monthly with multiple payment methods supported
• After canceling subscription, you can still use the service until the current billing period ends
• Unused credits do not roll over between billing periods unless otherwise stated
